Sunshine Academy Mission

Sunshine Academy is dedicated to love and educate Chinese orphans instilling dignity

and life skills to empower each life to its full potential.

At Sunshine Academy we believe that each child deserves to be loved unconditionally and that within clear limits they have freedom to express themselves and to reach their full-potential.  We accomplish this through our full time preschool, evening Sunset Hours program, Weekend Adventures (outings) and Sunshine Special and Vocational Education School (SVE) for older students.

Sunshine Academy is a registered Chinese NGO established in April 2007 in Bao’an Shenzhen. We are working in partnership with the Bao’an, Zhuhai, Chengdu, Dayi, Zhengzhou, Xuchang and Luohe Social Welfare Centers (also completed projects in Dongguan and Shenzhen, Longgang ) providing high quality education and care for children living in welfare centers.

Sunshine Academy Benefit Fair

Sunshine Academy has invited the Shenzhen Charity Federation to partner with us for this year’s Sunshine Academy Benefit Fair. Thanks to the many generous friends, companies and organizations who enthusiastically support our work through the Benefit Fair, Sunshine Academy has been able to continuously develop and grow. The Sunshine Academy Benefit Fair is designed as a fun day for the entire family. Through enjoying great food, music, shopping, games and fun, fair-goers can enjoy supporting our charity work with friends and family. Come and join us for the fun at the Eleventh Annual Sunshine Academy Benefit Fair – a fantastic family gathering!

International Food Court

Watch French crepes being made before your eyes, taste an oven roasted Thanksgiving Turkey; enjoy BBQ or cotton candy all at the International Food Court! You and your family or friends can register for a booth and sell dumplings or the food children like! Don't forget a cup of fresh coffee or wine tasting to top the meal off! The delicious aromas coming from the International Food Court will satisfy your cravings and while enjoying the food with your family, you are supporting the Sunshine Academy for orphans and disabled children!

Bazaar

Time for shopping! The vendors at the bazaar will give you lots of choices when is time for shopping. Children’s books, clothes, electronics and household items – all for a good cause! Do you have a product you would like to sell?

Kids Carnival

Face-painting, basketball, football, trampoline and other interesting activities for all ages kids!

Talent Show

The highlight of the Benefit Fair will be our International Talent Show. A showcase of talent coming from our kindergarten and international schools will celebrate the musical abilities of Shenzhen’s children and create a festive backdrop for the day.

Silent Auction

Try your luck at our Silent Auction – you could walk home with a high quality item such as new electronics or a restaurant voucher in lowest prices. These items have been donated for the Silent Auction by generous local businesses and are up for sale!  Find something you like? Write down your bid of how much you are willing to pay for it and then watch out to make sure no other bidders offer a higher price than yours! If someone offers more, now it is your turn to write down your new bid. At the end of the Silent Auction, if you have the highest bid on the item, you win! You pay your bid and take home your item.

Location and Transportation

Our Sunshine Academy Benefit Fair will be held at the beautiful campus of Buena Vista Concordia International School (BCIS) in Buena Vista (Xicheng), Bao’an, Shenzhen. A free shuttle from the Xing Dong (line #5) metro station exit D will be provided for all fair goers through the fair (9am-16pm). Please take green commute if possible, since we have limited packing space. Self-Driving Route: GPS to “BCIS” and follow the instruction to parking.

Join Us

We invite you to join us to participate in this exciting family event. There are three ways you can get involved:

Be a Vendor

Sign up for a booth in our food court, shopping bazaar or activity area. Sign up as either a family booth or an enterprise booth. Enterprise booth is for companies wishing to sell their products. If you are willing to donate all income from the booth to Sunshine Academy, you can apply to be a Full Donation Booth. For all those children serving at booths, we will provide volunteer certificates and for Full Donation Booths, we will provide donation certificates.

Booth fee is 300RMB for Family booths and 2000RMB for Enterprise booths. There is an Early Bird Booth fee of 200RMB for Family Booths and 1500RMB for Enterprise Booths if application is accepted by 5:00 p.m. September 30, 2019. The overall deadline for booth applications is 5:00 p.m. October 26, 2019.

Serve as a Volunteer

There are many different volunteer positions depending on your service time and talent. Each volunteer will receive a volunteer certificate. Volunteer application forms must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. October 25, 2019. All volunteers must attend a Volunteer Meeting held at BCIS in Xicheng, Bao'an from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on October 26.

Note: Please go to the below website to enter the fund-raising link of Shenzhen Charity Association for donation, payment of booth fee and silent auction donation as well as application for an invoice. For our registration records, please leave a note when you wire the donation: "Name of the booth owner + booth fee”, or "Name of the booth owner + booth donation”, or "name + Silent Auction”, Thank you for your great support and cooperation!
